Modified on Thu, 16 May at 3:18 PM

Overview

Automatic updates on Windows systems can be a double-edged sword for businesses. They are crucial for maintaining system security and performance yet they can also disrupt day-to-day operations if not managed effectively. In this article, we will show you how schedule your Windows updates to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.

Procedure

  1. Go to Start > Settings > Windows Update > Advanced options.
  2. Click Active hours.
  3. Select Manually.
  4. Adjust active hours according to your requirements. In this step, you should know that the maximum active hours are 18 hours.

After the settings, when a Windows 11 update is pending for installation, your computer will not restart during the time you set in Active hours.
