The selected discount cannot be applied because of time filters

This article will cover the error, "The selected discount cannot be applied at the specified time because of the time filters", shown below.  This error will appear if a Custom Discount is attempting to be applied outside of the discount's specified time filter.  Note: The message does not specify the name of the discount.

This is typically only encountered when a Custom Discount is assigned to a Customer or a Loyalty Program.  Following the steps below, you can retain the discount settings while suppressing any time-related error message.


  1. Log into the BO
  2. Navigate to Admin -> Custom Discounts
  3. Search for any discounts that are configured with an expiration date/time
  4. Edit the selected discount
  5. Check the Suppress Time Message checkbox

  6. Click Save
  7. Repeat if necessary
