Generate Store Transfers by Max Quantity

Overview

This article will outline how to use our Store Transfer Generator tool to generate store transfers by comparing the current quantity on hand to the max quantity set in the product location data.  The tool also includes links to other related tools in Cloud Retailer such as our Forecast QTO tool which will set the max quantity for products based on past sales multiplied by a multiplier.


Procedure

Defining the Main/Warehouse Location

By default, the Store Transfer Generator tool sets the default Location To to "Warehouse".  If your main location in Cloud Retailer is not named "Warehouse", follow the steps below to update it or contact Cloud Retailer for assistance.

  1. Log into your back office
  2. Navigate to Admin -> Document Templates -> Search for Store Transfer Generator
  3. In the Template text editor box, find the defaultLocation line near the top of the code
  4. Replace the text Warehouse with the name of your main location. Note: The name MUST be inside double quotes.



  5. Click the Save button without modify anything else


Generating Store Transfers by Selected Departments

  1. Log into your back office
  2. Navigate to Reports -> Store Transfer Generator
  3. Set the "From Location".  Note: This tool will always be set to the default location when the page loads.
  4. Select at least 1 "To Location(s)" you wish to generate transfers for
  5. Select at least 1 "Department(s)" to build a product list for the transfers
  6. Click on the "Generate Store Transfers" button
  7. The popup will complete the task and provide direct links to the transfers created


Generating Store Transfers using a Query Filter

  1. Log into your back office
  2. Navigate to Reports -> Store Transfer Generator
  3. Set the "From Location".  Note: This tool will always be set to the default location when the page loads.
  4. Select at least 1 "To Location(s)" you wish to generate transfers for
  5. Click on the "Use a Query Filter Instead of Departments" checkbox
  6. Select a Query Filter from the drop-down menu
    1. We created a default Query Filter named "StoreTransferGenerator"
    2. Click on the "View Selected Query Filter" to open this filter
      1. If you wish to create a new filter instead, simply click on the "create a new filter" link under the select field
      2. Give your new filter a unique name
    3. Configure the Query Filter using filters similar to our reporting features
    4. In the example below, we want to create transfers for all products in the "Liquor" department
    5. Once your filters identify the products and locations you wish to generate transfers for, click the Save button to save your filters
    6. You may close this tab and return the previous screen
  7. Click on the "Generate Store Transfers" button
  8. The popup will complete the task and provide direct links to the transfers created


Tools

The tools section contains 2 buttons, one to generate new min & max quantities using our "Forecast QTO" tool and one to view store transfers created by this tool for the current day.
