Overview
If you would like to reduce the number of buttons on a task pad, you can create a button on that task pad that opens another task pad.
Procedure
You can do this by following the steps below:
These instructions assume you have all of the Task Pads created prior to proceeding to the steps below.
- Log in to the Back Office
- Click on Admin, search for Task pads and click on it.
- This will populate a list of task pads on the left side of the screen. Click the Task Pad you want to add the button to.
- On the Task pad preview, click on the button that you would like to open the task pad. (This can be an open button or one that you want to change.)
- Fill out the following fields.
- Name the button in the "Text" field. This is the text that will be displayed on the button at the POS.
- Choose a color from the color picker. This is NOT required and is optional.
- In the small, top box under "Command" type in "TaskPads: Show Task Pad". Once you start typing you should get a list of options you can choose from.
- Click the blue-button to edit the parameters. (This button may be on the lower right-hand side of the command parameters box, or directly underneath it)
- Click Properties
- This will display a list of the properties that you can set for the button
- The two that are mandatory are Title and Task Pad Name. Click the box next to each of them to select them.
- Text boxes will appear for you to enter in the Title and Task Pad Name information.
- In the Title box type in the name, you want to display on the popup task pad. This title is what will display on the popup task pad on the POS and does not have to be the same as the title of the task pad the button is displaying.
- In the Task Pad Name box type the name of the task pad you want the button to display. This has to be the exact name of the task pad you want to display.
- Click Submit
- Modify any other button settings you would like to change.
- Scroll back to the top and click Save
- Go back to the POS and sync the POS. You may need to log out and back into the POS for the changes to appear, but you should not need to exit the POS.
