How to set up and configure a Product Setting Discount in Cloud Retailer. This covers configuring the discount engine parameters, setting product filters (such as targeting the wine department and specific price thresholds), creating a product change worksheet, assigning new promotional prices via entity settings, and approving the final changes.
Step 1: Create the Automatic Discount
- Navigate to Discounts on the left menu and select Create New Automatic Discount.
- Name the Discount: In the Discount Name field, enter a description (e.g., Product Setting Discount).
- Select Discount Engine Type: Open the Discount Engine Type dropdown menu and select Product Setting.
Step 2: Configure Discount Engine Parameters
- Entity Setting Name: Type in a custom label to identify this price tier (e.g., Sale Entity Setting).
- Default Price: Set a default fallback price (e.g., $10) to be applied if a specific product does not have an assigned entity setting price.
- Required Quantity: Set the required purchase quantity trigger (e.g., 2).
Step 3: Define Products Filter
- Under Advanced Filtering, set your filter parameters:
- Department: Choose Wine (or your target department).
- Price: Set logic to <= 15 (or your desired price threshold).
- Click Save in the top right corner to save the automatic discount rule.
Step 4: Create a Product Change Worksheet
- From the left menu, go to Tools > Product Change Worksheet.
- Click Create New Product Change Worksheet on the right side.
- Reference Number: Enter a reference label (e.g., Reference Product Setting Discount).
- Locations: Check the store locations where the discount applies.
- Property to Change: Select Entity Setting from the dropdown menu.
- Entity Setting Selection: Pick the entity name you created earlier (e.g., Sale Entity Setting).
Step 5: Load Products and Assign New Sale Prices
- Click Add Filter inside the worksheet and apply matching criteria:
- Department: contains Wine
- Retail Price: <= 15
- Click Add Filtered Products to populate the list.
- In the New Entity Setting column, manually enter the updated promotional price for each product.
Step 6: Approve and Save
- Change the Status dropdown at the top from Open to Approved.
- Click Save in the top right corner to publish the worksheet and activate the discount settings.
